Get Ready For Spring Cleaning!

Construction & Contractors Blog

Hopefully during the month of January you were able to recover from the Christmas holidays. Perhaps you hit the stores to take advantage of after-Christmas sales, maybe you got to relax and go out to eat and to the movies with friends, or you got to simply enjoy being home. Now that February is here, consider making it a great month to get your spring cleaning done!

Work With A Vengeance - If you've decided to get the house done in a hurry, you'll probably need at least two days in which to accomplish your task. Hopefully, you'll be successful in getting other family members to help. Even little hands can share in the work!

  • Start by getting rid of things you don't need or use anymore. If you're nervous about getting rid of them permanently, put them in boxes and store them in the attic or your garage for a year. If you haven't opened those boxes by this time next year, you can get rid of them when you do your spring cleaning in 2016.
  • Get your cleaning supplies in order. Make an assessment of what you already have and shop for the things you need. Considering buying back-up supplies so you won't have to stop your work to go shopping when you run out of a certain product.
  • Divide the house into sections. On day one, work on bedrooms and bathrooms. The living room, dining room, and family room are a good combination for the second day. The kitchen might need a day all to itself!

Hire Professionals - There are some jobs that are best handled by professionals.

  • If you have high ceilings, this means you have windows that are hard to reach. It can be both difficult and dangerous to try to clean these yourself. Hire professionals!
  • If you have wood or tile floors, an extra sprucing-up by a cleaning company will make them sparkle.
  • Save the carpets for the last. While you're cleaning the rest of the house, you'll probably track dirt through the carpets, or you might even spill products on them. When you hire a professional service like Ambrose Advanced Carpet Cleaning to clean your carpets, you can be sure that the workers will be trained to do the job right. In addition, they'll bring state-of-the-art equipment that will deep clean soil. In many cases they'll even be able to make stains disappear. The supplies they use are friendly to the environment and will not be dangerous for your pets or family members. Consider leaving the house so you won't be in the workers way. It will be amazing to return to the scent and the look of carpets that now look like they're brand new! Consider hiring the carpet cleaners to return to your home on a regular basis.

Congratulations on getting your house ready for your next adventures.
